This is a great time of year for nostalgia; the evocative songs, movies, and foods. Do you remember the 1942 film, Holiday Inn? Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby sang and danced in a beautiful white inn supposedly somewhere in idyllic Connecticut. This movie also introduced the perennial favourite song, White Christmas. Shaw Festival has mounted this cheerful story as a stage play to be enjoyed throughout the holiday season. Residents will travel there for lovely afternoon in Niagara on the Lake; itself a pretty town.
