Spring and Cherry Blossoms

April 26, 2017

We’re still experiencing some chilly weather unfortunately, but that doesn’t seem to deter the trees from blossoming with bright new leaves, or the cherry blossoms from bringing forth their beauty. “Nothing symbolizes spring like the beauty of a blooming cherry tree. Each year thousands of people visit High Park to take part in the century old Japanese tradition of Sakura Hanami, or “cherry blossom flower viewing. Most of the cherry blossoms are located in an area called Hillside, along the west area of the park beside Grenadier Pond.” (from the City of Toronto website)

You might also consider visiting the U of  T campus where there are approximately 70 cherry trees. Last year, owing to erratic weather, they had few blossoms. This year promises a good crop.
